Just like humans need a balanced diet to thrive, Pixie trees require three primary macro-nutrients, abbreviated as NPK:
Nitrogen (N) – “The Leaf Builder”: Responsible for rapid green leaf growth and canopy building. Critical during the first two years. However, too much nitrogen during fruiting causes thick, puffy skins and reduces sweetness.
Phosphorus (P) – “The Root Booster”: Drives strong, deep root systems and healthy flowering. It must be applied early in the tree’s life and right at the start of flowering cycles.
Potassium (K) – “The Sweetness Champion”: This is the secret ingredient for high-profit Pixie farming. Potassium regulates water movement within the fruit and drives the accumulation of natural fructose sugars. High potassium ensures your fruits are heavy, juicy, intensely sweet, and have a beautiful, firm skin with an excellent shelf life.
Here is a comprehensive feeding guide tailored for a single Pixie tree. For best results, always apply fertilizers during the onset of the long and short rains when the soil is naturally moist.

Never dump chemical fertilizer right against the bark of the tree trunk. The thick roots near the trunk are structural anchors; they cannot absorb food. The active feeding roots are located further out, exactly where the furthest leaves drop water onto the ground when it rains (known as the canopy drip line).

To apply inputs correctly:
Look at the outer edge of the tree’s branch spread.
Dig a shallow, 5 cm deep circular ring directly underneath that outer edge all the way around the tree.
Scatter your manure and fertilizer evenly inside that circular ring.
Cover the inputs back up with soil to prevent nitrogen gas from evaporating into the air, and water the ring heavily.
Prioritize Potassium: Focus heavily on Potassium (K) inputs from Year 3 onwards to guarantee sweet, heavy, premium fruits.
Feed the Drip Line: Always apply manure and chemical inputs in a wide circle beneath the outer canopy edge, never directly against the main trunk.
Decompose Manure Fully: Only use completely dry, well-rotted manure to avoid burning roots and spreading weed seeds.
